Packaging Cluster visits AIS Vision Systems: when industry comes together to innovate
01 - 04 - 2026
Some visits go beyond protocol. The one we received last Friday from the Packaging Cluster team was exactly that: a real working session, with honest conversations about the industry’s challenges and joint exploration of what technology can do for the packaging sector.
Who is Packaging Cluster?
Packaging Cluster is an association based in Sabadell, Barcelona, founded in 2012, specialising in packaging, innovation, sustainability and Industry 4.0. The packaging sector in Spain generates €17.5 billion a year, represented by 1,500 companies and more than 73,000 workers, with 46% of that turnover concentrated in Catalonia.
Packaging Cluster has successfully renewed the Gold Label certification, the highest European seal of excellence in cluster management. It is not a lobby or a vertical structure: it is an entity led by active members, with a horizontal structure and a driving board of directors, focused on driving strategic projects and fostering effective networking across the entire value chain.
An entity that shares our same philosophy: that shared knowledge accelerates innovation.
A day of technical and strategic exchange
During the visit, the Packaging Cluster team was able to tour our facilities and see first-hand how our machine vision solutions for industrial quality control work in practice. Among the systems they had the opportunity to see in action:
AIS REV 360 — our 360° cylindrical container inspector with Deep Learning, capable of analysing labels, sleeves and caps while inspecting 100% of production without stopping the line.
AIS HOPPER — the 360° high-speed cap inspection system, designed for food & beverage and pharmaceutical lines.
AIS REV 360 Cables — automatic inspection of cables and tubes in continuous processes using Deep Learning.
But beyond the technical demonstrations, the most valuable part was the dialogue. We exchanged views on the real challenges facing packaging companies today: quality pressure, traceability, automation, sustainability and the growing need to integrate artificial intelligence into production processes.
Networking: the key to continued growth
At AIS Vision, we firmly believe that innovation does not happen in silos. It happens when companies, clusters, technology centres and industry sit down together to talk honestly about their real problems and find solutions jointly.
Packaging Cluster aims to foster R&D, promote training, facilitate effective networking and activate individual or collaborative innovation projects. These are exactly the values we share, which is why this kind of meeting makes so much sense for both parties.
A big thank you to the Packaging Cluster team for the visit, for the time invested and for the quality of the exchange. We keep building together.
