A poorly seated cap ruins the product: it compromises the seal, the shelf life and consumer safety. An automatic cap inspector verifies the closure of every container in-line, and 360° cap inspection ensures no defective unit moves on. Let’s look at what it checks and how the AIS Hopper system solves it.
What a cap inspector is
It is a machine vision system that verifies, unit by unit, that the cap or closure is present, well seated, at the correct height and free of deformation. It detects missing, tilted, cross-threaded or damaged caps before the container leaves the line.
Why 360° cap inspection
A cap can fail on any side: a single fixed camera can’t see the whole circumference. 360° cap inspection reviews the entire closure contour —thread, safety ring, tamper band— so no defect goes undetected. It’s critical in food, beverage and pharma, where a faulty closure is a real risk.
What defects it detects
A 360 cap inspector identifies: missing, mis-inserted or tilted cap, wrong height, damaged band or seal, and deformation. Every non-conforming unit is rejected automatically, preventing complaints and product recalls.
AIS Hopper: 360° cap control
AIS Hopper is our 360° cap control system: it inspects the closure all the way around the container, separates defective units and integrates with your line and reject system. A single machine to make sure every product ships properly sealed.
